To ensure our castings meet or exceed the performance of wrought alloys, our co-owned and operated facilities utilize a
strict metallurgical sequence to eliminate porosity and atmospheric contamination:
Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM): Eliminating Contamination
Titanium is highly reactive. Casting in a total vacuum environment (10-4 torr) prevents the formation
of the brittle “Alpha-Case” layer, ensuring maximum material purity and ductility.
Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP): Ensuring Internal Soundness
Every aerospace-grade casting is subjected to 15,000 PSI at 1,700°F (927°C). This process collapses internal micro-voids,
providing isotropic properties that reach 95% of forged titanium strength.
